Sharjah Electricity & Water Authority has witnessed
consecutive huge development since its inception as a private company called
Sharjah Electricity & Water Resources Co., then its ownership was
transferred to Sharjah Government as (Sharjah Electricity & Water
Department).With the tremendous economical, industrial and civilization
development boom witnessed in the Emirate of Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Dr.
Sultan Bin Mohammed Al-Qassimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah
issued his visionary decree on establishment of Sharjah Electricity and Water
Authority (SEWA) as financially and administratively independent entity, to
distribute and generate electricity, water and (piped natural) gas to the
nationals and residents of the Sharjah Emirate.
His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, the
Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah issued the Amiri Decree No. 39/2014
on transfer and appointment of His Excellency Dr. Rashid Alleem, as the
Chairman of Sharjah Electricity & Water Authority.
The Amiri Decree stipulated that the Decree shall come into
force as from its date of issue and supersede each provision contradicting with
its provisions. All the relevant bodies, as concerned, shall comply with this
decree which shall be published in the Gazette. H.E Dr. Rashid Alleem, is
widely considered as one of the most prominent leading thinkers in the fields
of the economical businesses and development of corporate leadership skills on
both local and international levels.
He is a passionate writer, Environmentalist, ranks 3rd among
the 25 most influential CEOs in GCC, and an internationally respected
transformational leader.
He is also acknowledged as a visionary strategic
thinker who managed with his unique management mentality, to drive the forces
of changes and development at both Sharjah Department of Seaports and Customs
and Hamriyah Free Zone Authority. H.E Dr. Rashid Alleem, who was born in
Sharjah, is holding a PhD from University of Salford, Manchester, UK, and
multiple honorary doctorates from Somalia University for Humanitarian Services
and American University in the United States.
With his vast experience of more than fifteen years in the
field of human resources development, H.E. Dr.
Alleem was the mastermind leader of change at Sharjah Department of
Seaports and Customs and Hamriyah Free Zone Authority when he was heading their
management.
He succeeded in transforming them to a strategic commerce
hub empowering thousands of businesses in the region, contributing to the
development of the UAE economy. He has a farsighted leading role in promoting
and spreading out the culture of Corporate Excellence. For him, human
development is a vital capital and basic cornerstone for the development of any
economic and administrative businesses. H.E Dr. Rashid Alleem is the founder of
